Bible Question: This is my first time here so I dont know where to go to ask a question so If I am in the wrong place Im sorry...I have just come back to the lord a few weeks ago and starting tithing, but I have a problems reading my bible,I dont know how to force myself to concentrate on what I am reading or to remember what I have read. Can some one help me by giving advice on how to do so? Thank you |
Bible Answer: Funny you should ask, I just about asked the same question not too long ago. I have no problems listening to tapes and can easily follow a sermon in my Bible but to actually read it is hard for me to do. I would suggest finding a easy translation to read to get into it, stick to the gospels and acts, the best book I like to look at in OT is proverbs, psalms still mostly goes over my head. When I hear a sermon preached on one, I think that makes sense but to read it on my own, I get nada. I've been recommended to read The Good News Bible or TEV (Today's English Version), I wonder if the CBN book The Book is good-probably. I have an older version and I can read that pretty easily. After you conquer the easier ones to read, then maybe you can get a harder version, like KJV, but I wouldn't recommend that for starters. :) |
