Bible Question: This is my first time here so I dont know where to go to ask a question so If I am in the wrong place Im sorry...I have just come back to the lord a few weeks ago and starting tithing, but I have a problems reading my bible,I dont know how to force myself to concentrate on what I am reading or to remember what I have read. Can some one help me by giving advice on how to do so? Thank you |
Bible Answer: I'm glad you came here! You shouldn't have to force yourself to read the Bible. Here are some ideas which have helped me: 1. As a Christian, you have Christ living in you. Even if you yourself have trouble staying focused, the Christ within you doesn't. Count on HIM to give you the passion for His Word. Also, pray before you even open the book. 2. Just start with small portions, a few verses at a time. It's better to read one verse in God's power than to read five chapters and get nothing out of them. Trust His Spirit to help you remember things. He promised He would. 3. Go to church or home-group Bible studies or Sunday School. Studying together with other believers will really make it come alive for you. Hope that helps... |
