Subject: A SIN TO FILE BANKRUPTCY |
Bible Note: GB Let's look at your answer in light of Jesus' admonishment to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, and to do unto them as we would have them do unto us. Let us suppose that you paid into a health account or a retirement account and just as your were reaching the point in your life where you needed to draw from that account you found out they filed bankruptcy and you were out of all your money. How would you feel? Would you want that done to you? I think you would be feel betrayed, and cheated. How do you think a bank feels when someone who has promised to pay a debt files bankruptcy and the bank is out their money? Do you think they would feel cheated, lied to, betrayed. It isn't how we want to be treated so it shouldn't be the way we treat others. I think bankruptcy is neccessary to prevent people losing everything and ending up without hope but I think as Christians contrary to what the courts may say, we still need to try to repay those debts.
