Bible Question: IS IT A SIN TO FILE BANKRUPTCY |
Bible Answer: Hi LisaKB, I think Prayon spoke well, in that our motive is important in determining what is sin to us. Romans 14:23 "whatever is not of faith is sin". My pastor once said in answering this question for another that should we seek the relief of bankruptcy, we should still endeavor to pay back what we owe, as Jesus said "let your yes be yes, and your no be no." Matt. 5:37. As one who has been tested and tried with financial difficulty, I encourage you to trust in the Lord to supply your needs, and to show you haw to use those resources given. Many times I did not know how things could possibly work out, but God has always come through, though not always as I would have thought. And always remember, "all things work for the good to them that love God, and are the called according to His purpose. For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brothren." Rom 8:28-29. All that God is doing is to make us more like Jesus. Love in Christ, Mark |
