AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Peter 3:21 Corresponding to that [rescue through the flood], baptism [which is an expression of a believer's new life in Christ] now saves you, not by removing dirt from the body, but by an appeal to God for a good (clear) conscience, [demonstrating what you believe to be yours] through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, |
Subject: Do you have to be baptized to be saved? |
Bible Note: No, this is not my argument for water salvation. I am merely saying that since Paul's audience is one of Christians, Ephesians 2:8 should not be used to say that baptism is not necessary. Why would Paul tell people who are already saved how to be saved? Ehesians 2:8 does not mention the blood of Christ, but we believe that we are redeemed by his blood. |
