AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Peter 3:21 Corresponding to that [rescue through the flood], baptism [which is an expression of a believer's new life in Christ] now saves you, not by removing dirt from the body, but by an appeal to God for a good (clear) conscience, [demonstrating what you believe to be yours] through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, |
Bible Question: If you are bapized by an individual who does not believe in baptismal regeneration, but simply confessing "whith your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believing in your heart that God had raised Him from the dead," for salvation, assuming baptismal regeneration is Scriptural, will you be saved? |
Bible Answer: Yes, I believe so on the basis of God's faithfulness. So many issues are discussed from the viewpoint of man, instead of God's viewpoint. The God we love and serve is a faithful God and when we respond to Him in the way He has designed, He is faithful to do all that He has promised. By the way, I do not believe in baptismal regeneration, I believe we are regenerated by the Holy Spirit at baptism. There is nothing special about the water. Baptism is simply the place God says he will meet us to accompish all the things He promised us He would do. |
