Subject: Election |
Bible Note: Brother Tim, Truly, I see your point concerning v7. But throughout the rest of this chapter, it appears that God will recover “His elect”. Though they are temporarily hardened, the true seed of Abraham will not remain that way, as God will lift their blindness. I see that although they have not received the gift, as of yet, because of their rejection, God, as punishment, has allowed them to remain that way until He has effectually called all of His other elect. “that they shall be saved” (v26) is indicative of their election. God has already declared that they would be saved thereby establishing them as the elect. God did not bind Himself to forever exclude those in which He hardened as indicated in v23. Some of those temporarily hardened have a gift to claim and a calling from God to be heard (v29), God will see that His elect receive and hear in their due time. Thank you a bunch for putting up with me for a while, but I find your thoughts on this subject to be intriguing to say the least. WOS |
