Subject: Is God ONE or is God THREE? |
Bible Note: Gen 1:1 In the beginning "God" created the heavens and the earth. Strong's Concordance says "God" is plural: 430. 'elohiym, el-o-heem'; plur. of H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but spec. used (in the plur. thus, esp. with the art.) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:--angels, X exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty. The bible says when you marry, you cleve unto your spouse and become one - in a family sense, two people become a unit and we share our last name - God the Father and the Son are one - two persons united as one in a family sense sharing the name God. |
