Subject: What is a repentance from dead works? |
Bible Note: I just plugged in the words "dead works" into the Search Engine and came up with the following verses. Heb 9:14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? James 2:17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. James 2:26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. It seems James devotes the whole of Chapter 2 of his letter to this topic. Basically, I gather from his discussion that our works must be genuine and of real value both to our fellow man and our God and Father above. What do you think? Good question and God bless. Rowdy |
