Personal profile for user screen name: Robin Hass

Hello, my name is Robin Hass; I live in Cambridge, UK. I am 40 years old and am married with 4 children, with one on the way.

I was baptised and confirmed into the Church of England as a child. I mainly use the King James Version for my biblical studies because it is a classic of English literature and I love its majestic style. I also use the NASB and its associated software and concordances for further accuracy.

I believe in the classic doctrines of Christianity as expressed in the Bible, the Church Fathers and the early Ecumenical creeds. I have a particular affinity for the Ante Nicene period. I empathize with the so-called Branch theory of the Church (Anglican, Catholic, Orthodox) but I have the deepest respect for all conservative Christians who hold to the eternal truths of the revealed faith.

I believe that the essential split in 21st-century Western Christianity is no longer between denominations but between ‘modernists’ and ‘conservatives.’ I mostly agree with the Thirty-Nine Articles of the Church of England but some of my views go further back than the Reformation and are more in line with the patristic views expressed by Irenaeus of Lyon, Justin Martyr, Augustine and especially John Chrysostom.

I believe that no one can be worthy to enter into eternal life except their sin be forgiven through the sacrifical death of Jesus Christ, God the Son, the Second Person of the Trinity. To Him be all the Glory for ever and ever!
