Bible Question:
What does it mean 'perfect for all time?' When does this happen? Please use scripture to support your answer. |
Bible Answer: It seems that you know the scriptures quiet well. I believe perfection is in three different phases. 1. When a person is saved, they are sanctified and the Lord takes them out of sin. 2. As a believer grows they have a progressive sanctification, where the Lord starts getting sin out of them. 3. When we get to Heaven, we will have sin totally removed from us. If it were possible for us not to sin as Jesus had done, God could have and possibly would have used someone else for the sacrifice. But He was our one sacrifice for sin forever. 1Jo 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. We are born of the incorruptable seed. We still have a fleshly nature about us, but the Spirit of God in us cannot sin, because he is born of God. This flesh will go back to the dust and the part of us that is born again will go to be with the Lord. I believe that is the struggle that Paul was talking about in Romans 7; the warfare between the flesh and the Spirit. I hope this has been helpful to you. Keep growing in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. |
