Subject: is God and Jesus are one person? |
Bible Note: Paul, prior to his conversion, was a devout Jew believing ONLY that Jehova was Almighty God. He would never have addressed any other diety as LORD - it would have been a terrible blasphemy for him to have done so. Acts 9:5 records part of a conversation between Paul and Jesus on the road to Damascus, "And he (Paul) said, "Who are you LORD" And he (Jesus) said I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting..." (RSV) Paul is clearly addressing Jesus as LORD, which to Paul was Jehova. In the event Paul had erroneously called Jesus LORD, Jesus certainly did not correct him. It is also interesting to note that before Paul addressed Jesus as Lord he "fell to the ground" ie bowed down before Jesus. Paul was a fervent observer of the 1st commandment esp. Exodus 21;5 "thou shalt now bow down to them ..." Clear evidence that Paul accepted Jesus and Jehova as ONE: Jesus accepted Pauls recognition of him being LORD. |
