Subject: is God and Jesus are one person? |
Bible Note: While it is true that in the original Hebrew text the refer God as Elohem in Genesis 1:1 which is plural. However, it is not in the plural as several individuals or three separate gods but one collectivly. Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1: 18-23 reffer to Jesus as Emanual or God with us. 1John 5:20 says that "We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true- even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life." I know what your thinking that this passage proves what you're saying however, I'm not done. This passage is further proof that Jesus is fully God- but I don't think you're having a problem believing in that so I'll move on. Hebrews 2:16-18 says "For surly it is not angels he helps, but Abraham's descendants. For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service of God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted." Meaning that Jesus is fully human too. So if Jesus is fully God and fully human at the same time God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit can be the same 1 God. Just as a woman can be a wife, mother, and sister at the same time. No, I don't think Jesus lied, I have always interpreted those times when Jesus refers to God as My Father as him talking from his fully human side. However, I think we are on two separate pages. I've said my beliefs and I understand and respect your's. I know you respect mine but I don't think we are going to reach a compromise on this. But it has been nice discussing this with you. |
