Subject: Is the Bible itself evil? |
Bible Note: Greetings Nevermind! Thanks for the response my friend! Allow me to touch upon your points! 1) Anger: How is anger an action? Anger can certainly be acted out, but anger is an emotion, not an action. 2) Lust: In the end, it really doesn't matter if we think something is silly or not! :-) There is certainly a difference between lust and attraction. Lust is an evil mind set that can lead to many evil actions, and God has condemned it. 3) Mark 7:20 isn't saying that we are 'unclean' simply because we are alive. Mark 7:20 is saying that evil actions spring from the evil attitudes of a person's heart. Thus, our 'thoughts' are important. If we never get 'angry', we would never murder! If we never lust, we would never commit adultery. The list goes on and on. So, contrary to your stated position, our thoughts are critical and will be judged. 4) Heb. 4:12: The Word of God is God's self expression. This verses tells us that His Word does indeed judge even our thoughts and attitudes. 5) Regardless of what you think my friend, God's Word says otherwise. It would be terrible for me to ignore God's Word simply because you didn't agree with it! ;-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
