Bible Question:
Hi, Is there a standard training program for catchers? If the answear is: A.Yes. Where to obtain a copy? B.No. Will someone who has the relevant knowledge and experience do a brief write- up? Any assistance rendered in this regard will be much appreciated. With Love in Christ. FytRobert. |
Bible Answer: Hi Robert, At our church we are taught to first make sure you can do this without causing injury to yourself. i.e. if the person you are catching for is twice your weight, then maybe someone else would be better suited to catch for that person. Second, stand directly behind the person and tap them on the shoulder lightly to let them know you are there. This lets them concentrate on what God is imparting to them with out fear of falling and getting hurt. Third, if they do fall (which may or may not happen) your hands should remain on their back, guiding them to the floor. The last point is that a single man should never catch for a single woman. A single man should catch only men, married women and children. Women should only catch as they are physically capable. We do not want to create misunderstandings or injuries (either to others or ourselves.) Hope this helps, Bows44 |
