Bible Note: no one of corruptible flesh can "achieve perfect holiness. It must be imputed. 1 Samuel 2:2 There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. Romans 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: Romans 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. belief requires a subsequent action, (faith without works is dead) John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; Titus 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call. Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. So, the key words are believe g-d and believe ON him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead. (doesn't say believe IN, nor just to believe He existed at one point in time) |
