Subject: Which commandment was he talking about? |
Bible Note: True, Love requires either action or a refraining from something (which restraint is also an action) That is why the 613 are divided into two groups, positive mitzvot aseh (such as )Exodus 20:2 - To believe in God and negative mitzvot lo taaseh (such as Do not trust in any power but Yahweh. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."(Exodus 20:3) ), each complimenting the other. Each of the mitzvot aseh is a 'to do' list, requiring action to do a thing each of the mitzvot lo taaseh is a "SHALT NOT or do not do this, requiring the "action" of restraint each of the 613 , whether to do, or a shalt not, shows an example of loving God and neighbor, however, Jesus exemplified that it is not an all-inclusive list, so if it isn't an ox in the ditch that needs returning to its master, but rather a lost bracelet or wallet, it needs to be returned to the rightful owner. |
