Subject: Adam and Eve Perfect or Flawed |
Bible Note: Good evening forum and John, I have to agree with you John that Eve must have had it in her nature to succumb to temptation else God would have had no need to give Adam and her the commandment to not eat of the fruit in the first place. The very giving of the command implies that there was the possibility of either obeying or not obeying which in turn implies that there was a chance of compliance to that command as well as a chance of disobedience. I feel the tempter was the catalyst that led to the act of disobedience which truly can be categorized as "the fall" since Scripture teaches us that we can be tempted without falling into that temptation and sinning. Therefore "the fall" still remains "the fall" by the eating of the forbidden fruit. As for the difference in the wording between what God said and what Eve said I fail to see any major difference, certainly nothing that would imply that Eve fell from a lack of understanding of God's command to them. I just wanted to say how very interesting I found this thread. It really made me think! God bless all! budderfligh |
