AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no one in any way deceive or entrap you, for that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians], and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction [the Antichrist, the one who is destined to be destroyed], [Dan 7:25; 8:25; 1 Tim 4:1] |
Bible Question: Will the church be there during the great tribulation? will they have seen the antichrist before the rapture? |
Bible Answer: The first time that the body of Christ will know who the Antichrist is will be when he makes a covenant with Israel. He is also referred to as the little horn in Daniel. Daniel 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. Daniel 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; It is also called the time of Jacob's trouble. Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. Isaiah calls this time of the covenant with the Antichrist a covenant with death. Isaiah 28:15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: The answer to your question is YES the church will see the Antichrist; the problem is that most are being deceived into thinking that we will be removed before this happens and if that were the case why would both Christ and Paul give us a warning? Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; This lawless one won't actually reveal who he is until after 42 Mo. or three and a half years after he makes the covenant, then he will reveal who he really is and will actually demand the worship of the world. Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) The question was put to Jesus by the disciples as to what the signs would be before Christ returned and the end of the age. Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
