AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no one in any way deceive or entrap you, for that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians], and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction [the Antichrist, the one who is destined to be destroyed], [Dan 7:25; 8:25; 1 Tim 4:1] |
Subject: Depart from the faith |
Bible Note: 2 Thess. speaks of the great falling away or apostasy that will take place among individual Christian's as well as whole churches before the Lord's 2nd coming 2Thess. 2:1 ¶ Now we beseech you, brethren, by THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND [by] OUR GATHERING TOGETHER UNTO HIM, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 ¶ Let no man deceive you by any means: for [THAT DAY (meaning the day of the Lord's 2nd coming)], SHALL NOT COME EXCEPT THERE COME A FALLING AWAY FIRST, (Apostasy) and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 1 Timothy 4:1 says In the latter times some SHALL DEPART FROM THE FAITH. I want to mention here that it is impossible for someone to depart from the faith unless they have first been in the faith. I cannot depart from Chicago unless I am first in Chicago. Just some scriptural food for thought |
