Subject: is it ok to lie in certain cases |
Bible Note: Yes dear sister, I understand how that works, thank you. But, (there's that word) and I hope this isn't too much of a stretch for you, but, I was not referring to a literal priest in the Levitecal sense, obviously he was not a Levite, (sorry I wasn't more clear on that) but, in a spiritual sense, such as in 1 peter 2:9, wherein as believers, we are ALL a royal priesthood, David, was a believer. So that eating the show-bread was just a tradition with the legalistic Levite's, and not something that I believe God really cared about, so that when Jesus mentioned it to the pharisees, He was reflecting that sentiment. (i.e. the Pharisees only believed/thought it was lawbreaking, they are the ones that made that up anyway) Jesus was telling them otherwise; after all, He is the Lord of the Sabbath, and, therefor, more then able to explain what the significance of the Sabbath really is. He is rest itself, and in Him is found rest for believers, He is our peace He is our rest, making Him the Sabbath itself. But I digress, we were talking about, is it ok to lie, weren't we.... or should I say, does the "Bible" say, it's ok to lie? I don't think it does, by the way. :-) Shalom and God bless John |
