Subject: Jesus and God the Father not the same? |
Bible Note: How do you explain your statement scripturally that God the Father and Jesus Christ are "absolutely different" without admitting to polytheism? The triune nature of God can be, and is, affirmed by Scripture even though Scripture does not give it a label or name, i.e., Scripture does not use the word "Trinity." But an idea can be described and clearly defined without giving it a label, and thus it is a poor argument to say that the Trinity is not a biblical teaching simply because the Bible does not use the word "Trinity." My pastor never gives his sermons a name, but that does not detract from what he teaches in the sermons. Here are but a few of many passages of Scripture that prove the doctrine of the Trinity: Matt.3:16,17; 28:19; Rom.8:9; 1 Cor.12:3-6; 2 Cor.13:14; Eph.4:4-6; 1 Pet.1:2; Jude 1:20,21; Rev.1:4,5. --Hank |
