Bible Question:
Dear Brad, There once was a developer who built a project of 450 custom homes on a beautiful country hillside. They were strong solid homes made of concrete, brick and stone. He decided to make 150 of them very special using only quality materials with all the amenities one could imagine. The other 300 he decided to build without the water piping, electrical wiring and windows. Well, after all the homes had been built and after two years of activity, there were left 300 of them unsold. The developer was patient however, and waited several more years for the sales team to save them. But none of them could be sold. He was so upset he decided the only right thing to do was to destroy all the unsold homes. His anger was so intense he commisioned a perpetual rotation of 300 gas trucks to fuel huge flame throwers as he wanted to burn these defected homes until the bricks and stone melted. The developer felt that his vindication was not only logical, but loving, merciful and just. Does it make any sense that God, whose majesty is demonstrated to us in the greatness and order of the universe, would create all of humanity, only to one day destroy the majority of them in everlasting fire? Always seeking truth. Pukalanian |
Bible Answer: Hello Pukalanian, John 3:36 (ESV) Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. 2 Thes. 1:8-10 (ESV) in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. [9] They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, [10] when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed. Rev. 14:9-11 (ESV) And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, [10] he also will drink the wine of God's wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. [11] And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name." Steve |
