Personal profile for user screen name: magellan2019 Greetings!I was born into a family of Christians, my father was the minister of music at my church growing up, and my family and the pastor's family were very close, personal friends. I was fortunate to receive a tremendous amount of personal teaching from a very early age. I accepted Christ as my Saviour when I was 6, and was baptized when I was 9. If I had to claim one verse as my life's verse, I believe I would take 1 Peter 3:15 - "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect," I am taking the name of Magellan because of my love of exploration. Not just in the physical sense, but in the intellectual and spiritual sense as well. I was taught from an early age to question all I heard. "The Bible is the Truth," my pastor used to say. "And as the Truth, it will stand to scrutiny. Never be afraid to question it, provided you do so in the spirit of learning God's Truth." I believe the Bible is the inspired and full Word of God. I am an analyst, a businessman, an economist, a minister, a philosopher, a sailor, a scientist, a teacher, and a writer, though not in any particular order. No, I do not get paid for most of these, but each of these is very much a part of who I am. I found this forum while searching for help in understanding my calling. I look forward to a fruitful time while I am here. (The above information has been submitted by the author for use solely by the StudyBibleForum.com) |
