Subject: Is baptism done only once? |
Bible Note: The Ethiopian Eunuech was baptized in water after believing on Christ by the preaching of Phillip. Ac 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. This was after pentecost. And Cornelius... Ac 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Ac 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? Ac 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. This too was after the day of Pentecost. Baptism in water is to be done by all those that come to Christ. There is nothing fleshly about outward observance of water baptism. A good understanding in just how spiritual an exercise it is, can be obtained when you understand the necessity for us to make ourselves accountable. When we openly confess our Alegiance to Christ we win half, nay three forths of the battle, of the fight of drawing back the next day or the next week. This is a lesson learned that we would do well to remember through out our christian journey. When you find yourself struggling with any sin, make yourself accountable to others, confessing that you will have nothing more to do with that sin and are pledgeing your allegiance to Christ and Him alone. God Bless you all in your Study of God's Word. |
