NASB | Ephesians 2:3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 2:3 Among these [unbelievers] we all once lived in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by the sinful self], indulging the desires of human nature [without the Holy Spirit] and [the impulses] of the [sinful] mind. We were, by nature, children [under the sentence] of [God's] wrath, just like the rest [of mankind]. |

Bible Note: Dear Hank- Your argument for banning the C/A discussion goes like this: "What we do know is that sparks will fly, feelings will be hurt, and that the wall that divides the two camps will be raised even higher." OK, that's reasonable. I can see your point. However, then you said to GeneZ in response to his opinion: "Que sera, sera" Then you said to John Reformed: "This evening I happened to glance through the Book of Romans and lo, I discovered that Romans 9 has 8 chapters before it and 7 chapters after it. Just thought I'd pass this on in case you thought Romans 9 was the only chapter in the book. No charge for the service. Glad to oblige." I say this - OUCH. The type of language that perpetrates hurt feelings and divisiveness is the type of language you are using with these last two posts. Sarcasm is not respectful and only serves to provoke others. How can you so vehemently defend your position on this topic and then engage in the type of dialogue that promotes anger and hurt feelings? Just wondering. Psalm 15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath. But a harsh word stirs up anger. God Bless, Figgy |
