NASB | Ephesians 2:3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 2:3 Among these [unbelievers] we all once lived in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by the sinful self], indulging the desires of human nature [without the Holy Spirit] and [the impulses] of the [sinful] mind. We were, by nature, children [under the sentence] of [God's] wrath, just like the rest [of mankind]. |
Subject: Is the Potter free to do as He pleases? |
Bible Note: John The point still remains that those who once were (past tense)"objects of wrath" are no longer (present tense) considered as being "objects of wrath" My question wasn't about the identity of who these individuals were, but rather that the individuals mentioned, no matter who you view them as being, were not in a fixed or unmovable state of being "objects of wrath" "were (past tense) by nature the children of wrath, even as (just like) others." Eph. 2:3 But since God is rich in mercy Eph. 2:4 these mentioned in Eph 2:3 can no longer be labled as "objects of wrath" although in the past they were labeled as such, just like all others.
