Bible Note: I am saying that you have the Holy Spirit in your life when you are born again. It is actually the Holy Spirit which baptizes us into the body of Christ. However, you are not totally immersed into the Holy Ghost. The 120 in that upper room knew Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior, yet in Acts 2:4 we see that they were all filled with the Holy Ghost. This is to be something that happens throughout the life of the beleiver. When Paul wrote, be not drunk with wine wherein is excess but be filled with the Spirit speaking to yourselves in spiritual songs singing and making meolody in your heart to the Lord, when we read this the be filled with the spirit as it reads in the King James is taken from the Greek perfect present tense, its a continuous present, just like salvation, in other words it would be 'be being filled with the Spirit' We see this in Acts 4:31, they had already been totally immersed into the Holy Ghost, yet it happens again. This is because it is something that can keep happening to the beleiver. why it has to happen more than once, I'm not sure, God knows. But from Scripture we can see that it does happen. |
