Bible Question:
Is a Pastor the same then as an O.T. priest? This is what you are comparing it to. Well what I was wondering is how this has changed in N.T. with the setting up of the Elders and Deacon’s? Hebrews 4:14-15 That is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God. Let us cling to him and never stop trusting him. 15This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same temptations we do, yet he did not sin. John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. This says that Jesus is our Shepard and High Priest (Pastor) do we need more? He paid the price of our sins once and for all and is capable of leading us to where we need to go. So I ask again why a Pastor and where does it come from? |
Bible Answer: a pastor is a sptitual gift from God...please look at Ephesians 4:8,11...a pastor is someone who looks over the flock...of course Jesus is the Great Sheperd Hebrews 13:20 and the Good Shepherd John 10:11...but the Lord does give the gift to men for the perfecting of the Saints Ephesians 4:12...someone to lead and care for the people(flock) Acts 20:28 and 1 Peter 5:2...Jesus sent this gift through the Holy Spirit to feed us the Word of God until He comes back...Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God Romans 10:17...its by the Word of God that we recieve our strength to fight against the devil and to be overcomers...hope this helps...God Bless |
