Bible Question:
1. Is it biblical for pastors to take a salary? 2. If so, are there any passages in the bible supporting this? 3. Did the disciples give up their trades or jobs to follow Jesus? 4. If so, are there any passages in the bible supporting this? Thank You |
Bible Answer: ok once more we must lend ourselves to seeing God's purpose. Absolutetly God's gifts are free. But even Jesus accepted support as people were lead. The term salary may be the stumbling block. But be it salary or gifts, contributing to the support of people in ministry is right. Luke 8:1 Soon afterwards, He began going around from one city and village to another, proclaiming and preaching the kingdom of God. The twelve were with Him, Luke 8:2 and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, Luke 8:3 and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others who were contributing to their support out of their private means. |
