Bible Question:
1. Is it biblical for pastors to take a salary? 2. If so, are there any passages in the bible supporting this? 3. Did the disciples give up their trades or jobs to follow Jesus? 4. If so, are there any passages in the bible supporting this? Thank You |
Bible Answer: Pastors? I am new to this forum. This is a first for a post. This question has been rolling around in my mind for months. Acts 18:3 Paul lived and worked with them, for they were tentmakers just as he was. Was Paul ever called a Pastor or was supported as one. Was any one ever called a Pastor in the scriptures? It was set up for Elders and Deacons but where does Pastor come from or fit in. Is it like the children of Israel wanting a King or like in Galatians where the Jewdeizers was trying to get them to live by the old rules, where they needed a priest? This is just a thought or speculation because it doesn’t say anywhere? Are we as Christians just trying to take the easy way out and let somebody else do what we should be doing? I have learned from experience that if you want to really want to learn something teach it. If we were all teachers instead of pew warmers what would the church look like today? What does a Pastor do that we as a Church body should be doing? Byron |
