NASB | 1 Corinthians 5:11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 5:11 But actually, I have written to you not to associate with any so-called [Christian] brother if he is sexually immoral or greedy, or is an idolater [devoted to anything that takes the place of God], or is a reviler [who insults or slanders or otherwise verbally abuses others], or is a drunkard or a swindler--you must not so much as eat with such a person. Bible Question (short): Doubt their salvation? |
Question (full): Itiswritten: Thank you for your reply. It sounds as if you doubt the salvation of my 2 friends. I have always been very cautious about doing that. I do pray for them continuously, but I have not been praying for their salvation (they insist they are saved), but for their full repentance and return to fellowship with the Lord. Please clarify for me; do you doubt their salvation? In Christ, cwade |
