Bible Question (short): goodnewsminister, fear always negative? |
Question (full): Word study ... eulabeia - deilia - phobeo ... yir'ah - mowra' John Reformed, I doubt GNM will respond ... if you notice, GNM doesn't usually respond to posts that have hard questions. I have looked at five of the words translated fear ... Greek -Eulabeia (2124) is goldly fear (Heb 5:7, 12:28) -Deilia (1167) is timidity, fearfulness, cowardice (2Ti 1:7) -Phobeo (5399) is to scare away ... could be negative (Luk 1:30) or positive (Lu 23:40) Hebrew -Yir'ah (03374) is fear, terror, fearing ... could be negative (Psa 55:5) or positive (Pro 1:7). Notice the fear of the LORD is positive. -Mowra' (04172) is fear, reverence, terror ... could be negative (Deu 4:34) or positive (Psa 76:11). goodnewsminister ... what do YOU have to say? |
