Bible Note: John, Your eisogesis includes the following: "I believe that the context dictates that the term 'examine' would mean a thorough examination of the heart, followed by confession to God, repentance of sin and forgiveness." There are three specifics. The examination does not include all sins. Recall what I said. It also includes, "Jesus washed the feet of the disciples prior to the meal. This not only taught them humility but the water was symbolic of purification as well." This is not included in this passage.
