Bible Note: Searcher, it seems odd indeed that church leaders would permit a new believer access to the Lord's table while at the same time causing him to go through a "probationary" period before allowing him to be baptized. I wonder how they presume to know that the new believer "automatically" understands all about holy communion but must be tutored on water baptism? Leaders of such a church would be hard pressed to justify their actions by scriptural example. --Hank |
