Subject: verse says no longer bound by old test? |
Bible Note: No, we are not unrestrained by the law. Rom 6:1 makes that clear. Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Rom 6:2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Rom 6:10 says, "For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. " Christ died to set us free from the law, remember, "no condemnation", see "once for all"? If you are not free from sin how are you free to serve God? Rom 6:22 But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. Rom 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Is it not the gift that has set us free to serve God? Without the gift there is no freedom to serve God. John 8:36 "So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. |
