AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 7:6 But now we have been released from the Law and its penalty, having died [through Christ] to that by which we were held captive, so that we serve [God] in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter [of the Law]. |
Subject: Are we free from the Law? |
Bible Note: Scripture ... Exo 20:15; Rom 13:9; Eph 4:28 ... iktoose, God's day to you, If your conscience says it is okay to cheat a little here and a little there ... then you are not obedient to Scripture. You are not free to violate the Law, in this case Exodus 20:15 and it doesn't matter if it is restated in the NT (Rom 13:9, Eph 4:28). You are free from the penalty of the Law, which was death ... and free from the requirement of the OT sacrifical system - He paid it once for all (Heb 9-10). The stumbling block (Rom 14, 1 Cor 8) is mute. Searcher |
