AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 7:25 Thanks be to God [for my deliverance] through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind serve the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh [my human nature, my worldliness, my sinful capacity--I serve] the law of sin. |
Subject: Greek Question in Romans |
Bible Note: Howdy, and thanks for your reply. I am in Teller County - Park County line at Lk George. Dont worry about the finder's fee- I can look it up. I thought for a long time that :25 was the answer to the question in :24 also, but have decided against it. In order to make it answer the question, one must expand the text beyond it's limits. He is surely thanking God for the battle! It is proof that the Spirit is working in the heart..without the Spirit, no war- Also see Galatians 5:17-26. Why is it still a reality? I think part of the answer to that is that our sanctification, not unlike our justification, is 'by faith'. He has told us the reality of our new nature in Christ in Rom 5-7, and 'a man is as he thinks (or believes)'. If our faith is real, we will believe it and live it. Thus our conformity to Chirst in our 'walk', our our 'condition', is a matter of faith - there is not othe way to win that battle. And, since faith is a gift of God, HE gets the glory for it in the end, not us. Thus in Rev. 4 we cast our crowns at His feet! Truly "all things are from Him, and through Him, and To Him, to HIM be the Glory forever...Amen!" Just one man's opinion, and it's worth exactly what you paid for it! Blessings rzacc Have courage. Stand always for the truth, remain dependant upon Him and humble before His word, and God will use you to change your world! Have courage.
