Bible Note: Greetings Samantha! Thanks for the reply! However, I would point out that I have never made the claim that two different faiths are being discussed. Further, I agree with you that faith works. What I have been trying to get you to discuss though is the relationship between works and faith. My understanding of this relationship is: 1) First comes God's grace, 2) Followed by our faith response to God's grace, 3) Followed by salvation, 4) Followed by our works or obedience as a result of our salvation. This would be fully in agreement with what Paul says in Eph. 2:8-10. However, I'm not sure that you are saying the same thing, since you write: "A person is saved through faith that works." Yet, Paul explicitly denies that works play any role in our salvation. See Eph. 2:8-9. Notice that Eph. 2:8-9 doesn't say by faith and works, or faith and some works, or faith and works of faith. It simply says 'not by works'. p.s. - I believe I asked you a question awhile back, but I may have missed your response. Do you believe that we are saved, or that we will be saved?
