Subject: Can a toddler go to heaven? |
Bible Note: Dear Sniper, Let's explore this a little. If we were talking about an adult, we might say he is innocent because of the cleansing by the blood of Christ, but we would NOT say he was not accountable. 1 Corinthians 5:9ff seems to shows that sanctified Christians will still need to give an account of their lives before God. But they will be found without sin because of the gift. I would say that children are 'innocent', not because they have been forgiven of anything; and not because God is overlooking their sin in the youth. I would say the children are innocent because sin is an act of disobedience and they are not of developed age to be able to sin (Matthew 18,19 heaven belongs to such as these). The so-called sins of little infants and little children are subject to interpretation, unlike the sins of adults. Adults can be drunkards, homosexuals, and adulterers: but children cannot. They CAN do some things like get angry and lie, but I would argue that these are more like precursors to sin. If they are not trained out of the child, they will become part of the nature of the child and will bring forth death. Your thoughts please. Good day. |
