Subject: why do we have to call Jesus -Lord Jesus |
Bible Note: Hi, Meta... Zacchaeus would have had to understood the Mosaic Law. He would have had to understand how it related to him. Furthermore, he would have had to understand who Jesus was, and understood His righteous, divine authority. Pointless emotionalism is valueless to God (Luke 11:27-28). Heathens do that kind of thing. Deep emotion arising as a response to certain knowledge is a different matter. God wants worship in spirit and in TRUTH (see John 4:23-24). Without specific divinely revealed facts -- the truth -- Christianity at any level is impossible. In Him, Doc PS Your post reminds me of an old Jewish anecdote concerning a conversation between a student and a Rabbi: "What is the source of your wisdom, Rabbi?" asked the student. "Good choices, son," was the reply. The student then inquired, "And how did you come to make such good choices, sir?" "By experience," the Rabbi answered. "And how did you receive such experience, Rabbi?" persisted the student. The Rabbi smiled, "Bad choices, son, bad choices." :-) |
