Bible Question:
Rowdy and Emmaus, thanks for your replies which I will study as "good works" is what I need to sort out in my head. Rowdy you make a good point and I know that my conscience works overtime. The flesh is always looking for praise instead of glorifying our God. I need a lot of prayer. By the way, what is WWJD? Blessings, KJ |
Bible Answer: Ken John - WWJD? -- What would Jesus do? -- is much too presumptive in my view. We don't really know what Jesus would do in every possible situtation, and furthermore it isn't possible to put Him in every situation. For example, to ask What Would Jesus Do IF He robbed a bank or committed adultery is a preposterous question. The better question to my mind is to ask, What would Jesus have me do? Or, by extension, what does Scripture teach me to do? And we'll never know the answer to that unless we apply ourselves to a diligent study of God's word, as commanded of us by 2 Timothy 2:15. It is empty-headed nonsense to ask WWJD? when one doesn't have the foggiest notion of who Jesus really is and what He teaches in the word of God. --Hank |
