Subject: Why not Baptize as Jesus said to? |
Bible Note: In Acts 2:38 it says then peter said unto them repent and be baptized EVERY ONE OF YOU in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST. I want the name applied to my life. And jesus was baptized unto JOHN's baptism at that time. To me when he said that he had to fulfil all righteousness that tells me he wanted US to see HOW IMPORTANT baptism was. When a lady gets married she is suppose to take on her husband's name. Furthermore, the importance of the name dates all the way back. The rabbais would dunk their followers under water and as they were going down they would say their name over them and they would be known as the follower of that rabbai from then on. If you are baptized in the name of the father son and holy ghost. Who's follower are you? They rebaptized Johns disciples. Baptism comes from the greek word baptismo..which means submerse. Submerse in the dictionary means to put under water. So they were put under water in the name of the Lord Jesus. |
