Bible Question:
How do you explain to a person between being a catholic and a christians? Why is it hard for some people to show how they really feel about God during a service? But when you are at home praying and praising God it feels much easier. |
Bible Answer: Christian term meaning are the followers of Christ. Today, too many people called themselves "Christian" but not following the teaching of Christ. But the Term "Christian" really is you must follow Christ to called Christian, not just because you belong to a Christian religion but to be "elect" belong to His flock and follow His will. Catholic in principle is a Christian they believed that Jesus Christ is God. In addition to what I wrote, Easton Bible Dictionary Entry Christian the name given by the Greeks or Romans, probably in reproach, to the followers of Jesus. It was first used at Antioch. The names by which the disciples were known among themselves were "brethren," "the faithful," "elect," "saints," "believers." But as distinguishing them from the multitude without, the name "Christian" came into use, and was universally accepted. This name occurs but three times in the New Testament (Ac 11:26; 26:28; 1Pe 4:16). |
