Bible Question: What does it mean to be "born of the water". |
Bible Answer: In my personal view, "born of the water" as in John 3:5 refers to our natural physical birth. Our earthly mothers carried us around in a watery womb, until the water broke and we came forth. "born of the water" appears to be physical birth, while "born of the Spirit" seems to be in reference to a supernatural spiritual birth which God performs on those who are spiritually dead. P.S. I believe John Moran did ans excellent job explaining this phrase for you. Blessings New Creature |
