Bible Note: Greetings giam: God does not love Satan, nor should we! Be very careful how you handle God's Word! God tells us plainly to hate what is evil - Satan is evil. Psalm 97:10 Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. There is a difference between evil and enemies. You and I both have enemies. (Perhaps some participants may even think that they have enemies on this forum!)God has enemies too. But be careful: enemies are NOT synonomous with evil! When God tells us to love our enemies,it is a reminder of HOW God loves US - Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." This is important, even though we were ENEMIES of God, because of our sin, He still sent Jesus, to die in our place, so that we could be reconciled or brought into a right relationship with Him! God demonstrates HIS love to His enemies so that we will know how to respond to ours - with the same Agape love! Yes, we are told to "love our enemies," but we are not commanded to love evil anywhere in God's Word. Blessings on your evening! Mommapbs |
