Bible Note: Hello Giam Yes, God loves us all the way! But the following logic in your posting doesn't make sense to me. God is love (1 John 4:8), so He freely loves us. Matt 22:36-40 commands us to love God and love people because these are not natural to us. God must place His love in us to accomplish this. And I agree with the correlation of love to Matt 7:12. You wrote: "So Steve, before we can love others, we have to lvoe ourselves." I disagree. We naturally love ourselves too much. The whole idea of following Christ is to deny ourselves and lose our lives so that He might have His perfect way in us (Matt 16:24-26). You go on to mention how we like or dislike our character traits and actions that we see in others. That's true. But I think you are making a simple thing very complicated. Steve |
