Subject: Whose are you? |
Bible Note: Hi Robert, Thank you for your post, but you have made me "burn the midnight oil" and work into the night. Just when I get comfortable with my "penciled in" personal copy, someone like you causes me to get out the eraser. So as you have said, you think you have everything figured out and then you learn something new; something that makes us rethink our position. But we know that God is not a God of confusion; we will find out what we need to know. I certainly think of the triune God as blended together. We can not, nor do I think that we should try to departmentalize the Persons. I think of them as one God, one Lord, one Spirit, but each One is a blend. For Romans 8:9-14 I have all the occurances of Spirit capitalized in my persona l copy. For verse 11, I think of His (Spirit) who indwells us as being the Spirit of God the Father. But I have done some erasing tonight and penciled in some new choices of patterns for my personal copy. I have considered for the first time tonight changing the Spirit of truth into the Spirit of Truth. With that now penciled in, I offer this comparison for what it means to receive (His) fullness. John 1:16, "For of (His) fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ." John 15:11, "These things I have spoken to you so that (My) joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you." Good night for now. From the heart, Ray |
