Subject: A Study of John's Gospel. |
Bible Note: John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. John 1:11 He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, John 1:13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. Right on Angel1, Just to reiterate some of the things you have said: John 1:10 says: He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. Jesus, the Logos, he who "spoke" the world into being came down into this world, the world that was made through him and was not known. Furthermore Jesus came to his own, to the Jews, the chosen people of God and they did not know him. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, John 1:13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. This, above is the part that tells us that those of us who do receive Jesus then have the right to become the Spiritual children of God, spiritual because we are born not of blood and flesh but of the spirit through the will of God. Then John says again that the word became flesh and lived amongst us and we saw his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father. Here John speaks for all the people who saw the glory of the Son shining through his physical presence, how wonderful that would have been. Andy |
