Subject: A Study of John's Gospel. |
Bible Note: Hi andy-cynthia and all. John1:1-word/logos. defined in Greek as "something said including the thought" here's a side light- it also implies-motive-. This according to Dr. Strong's concordance.I do have to trust scholars re:the original languages. Rainbow-I must disagree that vs5 refers to John. It seems to me to be a continuation of the thought in vs4. ....the life was the light of men vs5-and-the light shineth....Then the switch to John who bears wittness to the light.RE; why Jesus had to be a man-God made a covanent with man. Man failed his part. God is absolutely faithful-we people have no clue what faithful really is- So to remain faithful to do His word He sent a man who fullfilled that part of the covanent. Only God's perfection can meet His own standards. He loves us so much that He paid the price Himself for us.-in Him angel1 |
